As an eco-conscious outfit, The SCUBA Group is a paperless business. This means where we can everything is done online.
We like this as it's easier for us, easier for you and better for the environment, the single greatest benefit though is that you can learn when and where you want to and if you're stuck on something then we're available 24/7 to meet you and discuss the bit that's just not sinking in.
There are a number of benefits to that approach that we'll cover elsewhere but if you've not used it before then the e-portal can pose some challenges.
We've put together this guide on how to access the e-learning in easy steps.
Before we start though, you should know there are TWO PADI apps and you'll need both of them!
The PADI App will hold your certifications and diving logs once you're a qualified diver
The PADI Training App is where you can access the learning materials for all the courses you've ever taken!
It means that once you're done training to be a diver you can get rid of one app but still have easy access to your cards and divelog if you want to go diving!
The username and password is the same for both as they both link back to your #PADI account, if you're on a laptop then it's the same for both as it's just done in your web browser.
So, how to get into the e-learning;
Check your emails!
As soon as we register you with PADI, you'll receive an email like this;
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CLICK "Start Course"
This tells PADI that to make the #elearning available to you, (if you've missed the email then we can resend it!)
You get one of these emails for EVERY course, so if you're doing #Openwater & Drysuit with us, you'll get one for Open Water and another for #Drysuit a few weeks later.
If you haven't already you'll be prompted to create a PADI account, this too is VERY important, the email address you use is the one that your qualifications are bound to for life.
It's for that reason we don't recommend using a school, uni or workplace address.
Online learning
PADI is now fully digital so all the e-learning, qualifications and even your #logbook if you choose can be held digitally. So what does this mean?
The e-learning is yours for life, held in the cloud
From any web connected device; phone, tablet or computer you can access your e-learning which is great if you ever need to refer to something, practice something or just refresh your learning.
Certifications are for life
Your Dive log
If you're using the web browser for your e-learning;
If you're using a smart device such as an iPad, Samsung phone then you'll find the app the easiest way of accessing everything you need.
The PADI Portal
Depending on how, where and what you learn on your PADI screen will look like one of the below;
Web Browser
Logging on through the website presents you with a screen like this, clicking continue course will help you to move through the modules required for the course.
A dropdown at the top of the screen will show all courses registered against your account, this is important when it comes to Continued Education courses such as the Drysuit Specialty.
Clicking "Continue Course" will bring you to this screen and allow you to carry on your diving education.

The first section of the course is how to use the e-learning which will allay any fears you may have and answer most of the questions but if anything is not clear then don't forget your instructor is only an email away!

Forms
We hate #paperwork but we're afraid it's a necessary evil, your #instructor will be looking to see that you've completed all of the forms (they're done online) there is a prompt as you move through your online learning. ***WE CAN'T LET YOU INTO THE
WATER WITHOUT SIGNED FORMS***
If you've any doubt whether you've signed your forms then you can check in the portal
Clicking forms will take you to any forms that you've signed and you'll be able to see whether they're complete or not.
Web browser
In the top Left hand corner of your Homepage you'll see an image similar to that on the left.
Clicking on Forms will take you through to where the forms are located and show you which forms need to be signed.
There is typically three seperate forms that need to be signed.
They can all be signed digitally and saved on file in line with PADI's policies and procedures.

If you've done it right then it should look like this;

(Obviously, yours should say the name of your course if you're not doing a specialty)
That's all there is to it, once this is done it's back to the business of diving!

If you can't see the forms or haven't signed them then let us know as soon as possible by email, through the website or via social media.
If yours looks different to any of the ones shown above then please do let us know (ideally with screenshots and one of the team will be in touch to assist)
